HALLOWEEN HAPPENINGS AT LUCAN LIBRARY

Join the team at Lucan Library this Halloween Mid-Term for a variety of events that will keep your little spooks entertained!

First up, an Online Comic Art Workshop with Jamie Lalor on Tuesday 26th October. Jamie Lalor is a trained illustrator specialising in comics and character design. This fun & interactive workshop is focused on comic creation and visual storytelling and is ideal for ages 12+. For further details and to book your place in Jamie’s Workshop, click here.

Next up, let your imagination go wild and sign up for a Creative Writing Workshop with Maeve Devoy of Mad4Tales. The title of Maeve’s Workshop is The Last Halloween on Earth- Everyone knows Halloween is the spookiest time of the year. But this year the magic bubbling at the centre of the earth is going to spill into the cities and the streets, transforming the world as we know it. Participants will have to find a way to stop the magic pouring out before they find themselves growing whiskers and tails! Focused on fun and creativity, this Workshop with Maeve Devoy will explore the importance of character development, while challenging participants to solve the stories problem and save the day. The Wooden Heart Shadow Puppet Show will take place on Thursday 28th October at 3pm. Miss Pickle-Feather is very curious and has lots of questions about everything. Then one day her curiosity leads her through the gateway of a strange shadowy world. She finds herself at Magnificent Marvello’s Special Seaside Circus where the performers are in trouble, and they need her to help. Will Miss Pickle-Feather be able to help Mr Marvello find his real heart again and can she save the circus from a terrible end? Created, performed and written by Theatre Artist Margaret Callan-Bergin, ‘Wooden Heart’ is an original magical take that takes us on a journey with Miss B Curious Pickle-Feather. Join Liberian Louise, for another of her popular pre-recorded online tutorials using Clayotic Kits, Ireland’s fastest drying clay. This time the theme is Cat in the Hat. After you register you will be sent a link to the pre-recorded tutorial. To par-take in the workshop participants must collect their Clayotic Kit from Lucan Library in advance.
