Author Trevor White will host a talk entitled ‘A Little History of Dublin’, on Saturday 1st July at 2:30pm. A Little History of Dublin is a high-speed history of life in the Irish capitol which highlights the humour and humanity that make up Dublin’s past. Booking are essential and can be made via Eventbrite.
Pottery workshops with Elena Butter will take place on Thursday 6th and 13th July from 2:30pm-4pm. These workshops are suitable for children aged 9+ and offer a fantastic opportunity to children to try their hand at the pottery wheel. In the first workshop the children will create their piece on the wheel and in the follow up workshop they will return to paint their pottery piece. Bookings for this exciting event can be made through Eventbrite from Thursday 29th June at 3pm. Children must be available to attend both sessions. Please note that this activity is not suitable for anyone with a skin allergy.
Creative writing workshops hosted by Maeve Devoy of MAD4Tales will take place at Lucan Library on Friday 14th July at 2pm. We have all been on a trip or a holiday that has gone wrong in some way or another but luckily for the attendees of this creative writing workshop, the missing luggage, sunburn and driving distances that got in their sunny way will all help as they write a summer comedy special. This fun & creative workshop is perfect for children aged 8+. Bookings are open via Eventbrite from 7th July at 2pm.
Fun Science Workshops with Anyone4Science will host two activities at the library this month. Join the team on Monday 17th from 2:30pm and learn the secrets of how to make Charlies Chocolate Playdough. This workshop is aimed at children from 7-9 years old. Bookings can be made via Eventbrite. At 3:30pm, Children aged 10-12 years old are invited to come along and make Harry Potters Invisible Ink. Bookings can be made via Eventbrite. Bookings for both events will be available from Monday 10th July.
