SUMMER FUN AT LUCAN LIBRARY

Summer holidays are here & at Lucan Library they have a whole lot happening to keep young minds busy and engaged all summer long!

Summer Stars is back for all junior library members! Ask at the library desk for a Summer Stars Reading Card. Return your completed card when you have read 8 books and receive rewards for your summer reading. All completed cards will be entered into a draw for a prize at the end of the summer.

Get creative with Summer Stars Colouring Competition. There are two age categories to choose from 3-4 & 5-6 years. Submit your entry by Wednesday 31st July for your chance to win.

Wednesday 3rd July, 10am, Join the team for Dave’s Jungle Reptile Show. Meet Dave’s wonderful selection of reptiles and learn all about their habits and environment.

Thursday 4th July, 5:30pm grab your pop-corn and join the team for their Family Movie Night a screening of A Series of Unfortunate Events (rated age 12+).

Wednesday 10th July, 2pm & 3pm unleash their imaginations with Lego Workshop and Brickworx. Booking is essential for 2pm & 3pm workshops and can be made via Eventbrite from Wednesday 4th  July.

Thursday 11th  July at 12pm Get into the rhythm with the Mobile Music School’s Drumming Workshop. This workshop is perfect for budding musicians aged 7-11years of age & bookings are available from July 4th at Eventbrite.

Wednesday 17th July, 3-5pm Join Elena Butter for Pottery Workshops for Children aged 9+. This is a fantastic opportunity to use a pottery wheel with Elena. In the first workshop, children will create their piece at the pottery wheel & in the second class they will return to paint their piece. Participants should be available to attend both workshops and bookings will be available from Wednesday 10th  July via Eventbrite.

Thursday 18th  July, 1pm & 2pm the team from Anyone4Science will host Roald Dahl themed science workshops. Charlie & the Chocolate Factory workshop will explore how chocolate playdough is made and takes place at 1pm and is aimed at children aged 6-8 years of age. Book your place here.

A Willy Wonka themed workshop for ages 9-12 will take place at 2pm and will dive into the world of Chromatography and how to test dyes in sweets. Book your place here.

The fun continues for younger library goers with Storytime happening each & every Tuesday from 3pm.
